Agritourism visitors should arrive calmly, on time and with respect for farm routines.

Confirmed agritourism visitors to our farm gates and education site all arrive by the same route and rules. College groups, chefs, families and farm managers all use the same gate procedure.
We recommend reading the notes as soon as you receive your visit confirmation, and again a day or two before travel. Timing and gates are especially important on working deer farms, as animal handling, feeding and health routines depend on calm and steady rhythms. Arriving at the agreed time avoids unnecessary stress for both deer and staff, and keeps the day on track for everyone.
Use the visitor gate, take the farm road slowly, and give way to any bakkie, livestock or worker on foot along the visitor lane. You will also find instructions on where to park, how to announce your arrival, and how to wait if the gate is still locked for a few minutes.
Print the notes and keep them in your vehicle, or save them to your phone. There is a map, estimated travel times from key towns, and road notes for the site you have booked: Karoo Edge, the Midlands, Stellenbosch or the Mbombela gate. Fill in your group name and confirm your arrival time before leaving home. If plans change, update us as soon as possible so we can adjust the gate schedule.
Most delays happen when visitors forget which gate was booked, arrive too early or too late, or try to enter without waiting for a staff member. Some visitors also overlook the need to drive slowly and quietly, especially if there are young animals in nearby veld camps.
To avoid confusion, always double-check your booking confirmation and use the notes as your guide on the day. If you need to change your timing or aren't sure which gate is yours, send us a message through our contact form and we'll help you update your plans.
To receive the notes as a PDF, just send a message through our contact form with your booking date and group name.
