Practical farm tools
All sheets are A4 PDFs, sent free by email on request. They are copies of the checklists, calendars and templates our crews use at Karoo Edge, with our own herd details removed.
The sheets follow our deer year: calving and fawning in November and December, weaning in March and the harvest window from July to September. They cover daily, seasonal and annual tasks, from trough checks to the yearly stud book review.
Each template prints in black and white and is filled in by hand. The notes refer to South African weather, state vet movement controls and Category 2 permit conditions.
From calving planners to cold chain checks and veld camp inspection sheets, our team sends these resources by email on request. We revise a sheet when permit or movement rules change, and the revision date is printed at the foot.
