Every venison lot we sell is named, documented and tracked through harvest and the cold chain, and we trace any lot on request.

We record and label every venison lot with its own name, linked to the farm, date and herd of origin. This means our partners always know the background of each lot, from harvest to delivery. If you need to verify provenance for a restaurant menu, butcher’s counter or a customer query, we can provide the details.
All our venison is slaughtered at our registered partner abattoir, and each lot stays separate throughout: in the abattoir chiller, at cutting and packing, and in the Karoo Edge cold room. By keeping clear records, we help you offer reassurance to your own customers, and make any recalls or quality checks straightforward and transparent.
Start by sending your query or request through our contact form, including your business name, the date you received the venison, and the lot name or code. If you have a dispatch note or delivery slip, please attach a scan or clear photo.
During ordinary business hours, lot traceability enquiries are handled by email. We'll confirm details like the harvest date, abattoir, species, and origin farm. If there's a need for more information, such as cold chain logs or batch certificates, we’ll send those as scanned documents.
Once we’ve confirmed everything, you’ll have a full provenance trail you can show your inspectors, chefs or customers. We can also resend or clarify records for audit or recall purposes if required.
To help us trace your lot precisely, please provide as much detail as you can. Of these, the lot code links straight back to the camp. If you’re not sure, check your delivery label, packing slip or invoice for a batch reference.
Including the date of receipt, your delivery location, and your business or receiving name helps us find the right records. If you use a specific product label or tag at your end, let us know so we can cross-match.
Lot numbers, delivery dates and your tag references let us confirm traceability and send the right documents for your records.
