We organise farm-gate, education and show-stand visits by appointment

All our access points and stands run on an appointment system to keep our animals safe and ensure the right team member is ready to meet you. This covers the Karoo Edge home farm, regional gates, education sites and our seasonal stand at the Bloemfontein showgrounds. We set aside time for you to talk through orders, look at named venison lots, discuss live animal sales, or arrange educational and farm partnership visits.

Your visit will be hosted by the right person for your purpose. For example, our venison provenance manager hosts provenance and cold chain visits, while our farm visits coordinator handles education days and show stands. This helps us protect herd health, biosecurity and privacy. We never accept walk-ins or unplanned stops, as it breaches our permit and animal health conditions.

How to book, what to include and what happens next

Send a message through our contact form with your preferred visit point, your name, and the reason for your visit. Please mention if you are collecting venison, meeting about a live animal order, looking for stocking advice, or wishing to arrange an educational or agritourism tour. If you are a returning partner, note any specific team member you are working with.

We reply during ordinary office hours. Our reply will confirm the date, time, directions, parking and the hosting team member. You will also receive practical notes, such as gate security, footwear, any biosecurity requirements (e.g. hand-wash, protective footwear if needed), and what to expect depending on season and weather.

If you need to move or cancel your booking, let us know as soon as possible so we can manage animal handling and staff rosters safely.

  • Send your visit request with name, location and reason
  • Visit bookings come in through the contact form.
  • Visit is only confirmed once our booking reply is sent

What we need from buyers and partners on the day

Arrive on time for your booked slot, as this keeps animal handling low-stress and limits disturbance. Bring along any required documentation if picking up venison (proof of order, named lot paperwork) or live animals (permit copies, Veterinary Red Cross permit if required).

Use only the signposted entrance provided in your booking confirmation. Please follow all staff instructions on movement, hand-washing and clothing where biosecurity protocols are in place. For education visits, closed shoes, hats and water bottles are recommended, especially in the Karoo and Midlands.

If you have any recent illness or have visited another livestock farm recently, let us know in advance for biosecurity planning. Please note that no walk-ins or unscheduled guests will be admitted under any circumstance.
